Insulation Before & After in Fresno, CA

Talk is cheap when your attic hits 140 degrees in August. What convinces homeowners in Fresno isn’t our sales pitch, it’s the before-and-after difference they can see with their own eyes. Poor insulation shows up as melted snow, sky-high SMUD bills, and rooms that never hold temperature. The photos we share here are the same kind of transformations our technicians complete every week across Fresno, Clovis, and the foothill neighborhoods. Seeing is believing, especially when it’s your ceiling on the line.

Attic Insulation Removal After a Raccoon Invasion in Woodward Park

Attic insulation removal and replacement in Woodward Park, Fresno

A homeowner in Woodward Park called us after hearing scratching above the master bedroom for three weeks. The existing fiberglass batts were matted down, full of droppings, and had an R-value of maybe R-11 after years of compression. Our crew removed every last bit of contaminated material, sanitized the decking, air-sealed the penetrations, and blew in fresh Johns Manville fiberglass to R-38. The homeowner told us the hallway stopped smelling like a barn within two days.

Blown-In Insulation Upgrade in an Old Fig Garden Bungalow

These 1940s Fig Garden homes are beautiful and virtually uninsulated. The attic had a sprinkling of rock wool from the Eisenhower administration, maybe 3 inches deep in spots. We topped it off with Owens Corning fiberglass blown-in insulation to bring the whole attic to R-44 after sealing the gaps around the chimney chase and bathroom vents. The owner’s gas bill dropped noticeably the first winter, and the front bedroom finally held heat past 9 p.m.

Attic Insulation for a Two-Story Home off Herndon Avenue

The upstairs bedrooms in this home were running 12 degrees warmer than downstairs every afternoon. The attic had bare spots where old cellulose had shifted, and the access hatch wasn’t sealed at all. We installed Knauf blown-in insulation to a consistent R-38 and built a proper weather-stripped hatch cover. As Bryce Holloway, our owner, puts it: if your attic smells like a pizza oven in July, that’s data telling you something. This one was data-rich.

Insulation Removal After a Water Leak in Clovis

Insulation removal after a water heater leak in Clovis, CA

A slow leak from a water heater in an attic left the surrounding cellulose insulation soaked and sagging against the drywall. Left alone, that much moisture breeds mold and weakens the ceiling. We pulled out the affected material, set up drying equipment, and replaced it with Rockwool batts that resist moisture. The drywall stayed intact, which saved the homeowner a much bigger repair bill.

Blown-In Insulation Over a Sunroom in Sunnyside

Sunroom roof insulation in Sunnyside, Fresno

Sunnyside sunrooms are great in February and unbearable by June. This one had a flat roof cavity with practically nothing in it. We drilled access holes, blew in GreenFiber cellulose at R-30, and patched everything clean. The homeowner can now use the room year-round without running a portable AC unit on high all afternoon.

Attic Insulation Replacement in a Tower District Craftsman

Tower District homes have charm and terrible attics. This Craftsman had a patchwork of old fiberglass batts, some installed upside down, some missing entirely. We removed everything, added a full air seal package, and blew in CertainTeed fiberglass to R-44. The owner said the house got quieter, too. That’s a side benefit of dense coverage most people don’t expect.

The common thread in every project above is simple: the insulation was either too thin, too old, or missing. Most Fresno attics run between R-11 and R-19 when they should be R-38 to R-44. If your energy bills or upstairs rooms are telling you something, give us a call at (559) 666-2260. We’ll give you a written price before any work starts, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
